The original Philadelphia Community Acupuncture (2007-2013) was located on the third floor of the Firehouse Building at 50th and Baltimore in West Philly. This picture, of Ellen Vincent (co-founder) and a full room of reclining patients, was originally published in the Utne Reader. The Mt. Airy location opened in March of 2012 at 538 Carpenter Lane and then relocated to its current location (602 Carpenter Lane) in June of 2015.
“In every way, a vision of what the world should be.”
Caring treatment that "does no harm" and sometimes works spectacular cures. Committed to our neighborhood. And committed to an alternative business model. When you walk in for your appointment, a volunteer at the front desk will greet you, ask how you are doing and really mean it, then ask how much you want to pay today.
“This is my favorite place to go in the entire world!”
I feel nurtured and cared for in a way that I have never felt before. The staff is so kind, caring and professional. Erin, especially, makes me feel so welcome and truly cares about my well-being. I highly recommend going here - it's affordable, comfortable and takes care of all of my ailments. A BIG shout out to Philly Community Acupuncture!!!

Billy and Erin, so radiate positive energy, extremely professional, I am in the world I've always dreamed of when I'm in PCA, paradise. All people of such extraordinary reception, attentive, cheerful and always in the disposition to help. Thanks to all PCA members, for you my grandson, my community and me. We regain our health."
“Calming, clean, and... inclusive.”
Visiting PCA for my first acupuncture session was a very pleasant experience. Their sliding scale allowed my wife and I to take advantage of the benefits of acupuncture, which we were very satisfied with. I am very sensitive (see: squeamish) with needles but Billy was very helpful and knowledgable. The environment was calming, clean, and I also really appreciated how inclusive PCA was of all. Thanks!
“I had an amazing experience.”
It was my first time receiving acupuncture and I was a bit nervous bc I'm extremely self conscious about my body scars and residual injuries after a traumatic motor vehicle accident. Billy, the practitioner, made me feel completely at ease and after my session my pain was lessened considerably.
“This place is my oasis.”
Both Erin and Billy are so chill and encouraging i even brought my Mom to have her heel treated. Highly recommend this comfy location!
I love this place! Not your typical acupuncture establishment but it's right up my alley. I went for sleeping issues which after about 2 weeks disappeared with weekly visits.
